Chevrolet Information
Can you put a Cummins in a Chevrolet? Yes!
This is a 1991 Chevy Blazer. The last year of the square nose. Same truck as the 86 and older pickups 1998 Cummins 12 valve. NV 4500 Tranny, NP 205 transfer case.
We changed out the vacuum boost brakes and put in hydro boost brakes. This made clearance for the Cummins intake.
We also dropped the frame in the middle (as seen in the pictures) and clearanced the frame in the front. Custom A/C bracket. It is the factory Chevy setup modified to bolt to the Cummins engine.
Intercooler is a 99 Ford intercooler. Very tight fit behind the grill.
We also used a replacement/upgraded radiator from a 1993 Dodge pickup.
We removed from Chevy a 350 V8 with a 700R4. We also changed the gears to 3.43. the truck weighs 6500 lbs. It has a camper for a PARACHUTE (not very aerodynamic) and gets 17mpg at 70-80 mph.
If you keep it under 70 mph it gets 20+
